Server Infrastructure

Dimension Data leverages a grid of dedicated systems and best practices to ensure we can meet our customers’ requirements for application uptime, performance, and scalability. All systems are on customer private networks with full network security throughout.

Dimension Data offers two server platforms:

Dedicated Physical Servers

Our standard physical server offering includes a quad-core processor with the option of upgrading to 6-core or 8-core processors. This flexibility provides the processing power needed to support even the most demanding requirements, such as high-transaction volume databases and other CPU-intensive applications.

Servers may be configured to run either Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. Dimension Data can also provide licensing for Microsoft SQL Server. Any other software licensing (and associated support agreements) required for the application are the customer’s responsibility.

Network-based Load Balancing:

Dimension Data can deploy both web tier and multi-tier network load balancing solutions as described in the Network Infrastructure section above.
